Moscow u-Bahn was opened in 1935, it contains outstanding examples of socialist realism art. In my opinion the Metro is a really good reason to visit to the Russian capital.
Maybe it's a little crowded, maybe a little old, but always when I am there I feel, is the summary of the entire massive Stadt.Ich not Russia would say, as almost Moscow is a country on its own!
The first plans for a rapid transit system in Moscow back in the times of the Russian Empire, date but were of the world war, started October revolution and the civil war in June 1931 verschoben.Der construction and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union had advice from the London underground, the world's oldest u-Bahn system. The end of World War II many stations were closed and Moscow metro was functional.
It is an interesting urban legend about the origin of the circulating line. A group of engineers approached Stalin with plans for the Metro to inform him of the current progress and what has been done at that moment. When he saw the drawings Stalin himself poured some coffee and spilled a small amount over the edge of the Cup. When he was asked whether he the project so far has fallen, he put his cup blueprints and links in silence on the Metro Centre. The bottom of the Cup left a brown circle on the drawings. The designers looked at and realized that it was exactly what you have been missing. We take it as a sign of Stalin's genius who gave orders for the construction of the ring line that printed to legend wurde.Diese plans always in Brown of course to Stalin's personality cult. In fact, the line was never shown as a circle on a subway map until 1980, long after Stalin's death. Before this time, the line was very much closer to the shape of the actual route mapped.
1950Er years - 1970s some architects, new stations decided in a more Spartan decoration scheme erstellen.Ein typical layout for all new stations developed and was the stations were built almost identical to each other only in colors of marble and ceramic tiles look. Most of these stations were built with simplified, cheaper technologies, which are not always very suitable and resulted in extremely utilitarian design waren.Beispielsweise walls with cheap paved and simplistic ceramic tiles proved vibration by trains, with some tiles, the finally drops vulnerable. It was not always possible to replace the missing tiles with those of the same color, which led eventually to infamous "colorful" parts of the patch.
Anyway, the Moscow u-Bahn is really deep (84 m), really busy (max 9,555,000 passengers per day), really long (292.9 km) and really nice! and very punctual 99.96% on time.
I have twice, visited Moscow, spending approximately 3 Monate.Ich have my best friend who live there, great memories and many reasons to go back.
